  • Dwtk - Ocd

Let me preface this by stating I understand that Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a very real and harsh condition - that said I think we should shed some light on the fact that these people are not alone.......everybody has a little OCD in them.

    SO

DWTK - What do you do that OTHERS (or you) consider to be OCD? Even the mildest thing that HAS to be done a particular way or that you have to do in an order or a certain amount of times?

    Usual DWTK rules apply

For me, its the fact that all my clothes MUST be folded in the drawers, and also when i eat small lollies/peanuts etc I HAVE to have an even number in my mouth (I count them across from one side of my mouth to the other once they are in there - not before I put them in my mouth COZ THAT WOULD BE WEIRD !!)

And then to actually EAT them I split the amount in half (still in my mouth) and eat half on the left and half on the right side of my mouth.

One of the main ones for [L] the GF, is that if a power point has not got anything plugged into it then it MUST be turned off, this includes at our house, when we go to the shops and at friends houses - lucky its not a bother at Deej's house COZ MRS DEEJ DOES THE SAME THING !!

I wash my hands far too much. Always have.

Straighten things in lines/patterns etc but ONLY when I'm cleaning or tidying.

Hello, you've reached the psychiatric hotline. If you are obsessive/compulsive, press 1 repeatedly. If you have multiple personalities, press 2, 3, 4, and 5. If you are simply paranoid, just stay on the line - we know who you are.

I *have* to try and open a door when i lock it to make sure.

This one stems from my ex: i *must* re-arrange fridge magnets so they're not straight. She was OCD about having them all lined up
“Crashing is shit for you, shit for the bike, shit for the mechanics and shit for the set-up,” Checa told me a while back. “It’s a signal that you are heading in the wrong direction. You want to win but crashing is the opposite. It’s like being in France when you want to go to England and when you crash you go to Spain. That way you’ll never get to England!” -- Carlos Checa

          I'm OCD abt
          1. making sure my bed is made before i leave the house
          2. making sure the garage door is closed at night - even if I have been the one to close it during the day I physically have to walk out the front each night to check that its closed
          3. unplugging appliances in my bathroom cos my daughter always leaves the straightner on - so this is another one where I physically have to walk back to the bathroom before I walk out the front door each day - even if I was the last one to use the straightner
          4. turning off dripping taps - I walk around the house and double check all taps if I hear water dripping - hate the sound of dripping water

the last one would have to be making sure every last drop of beam is emptied outa my can before I trash it !

            I must troll?

            I like porn? I don't think I have anything I must clean/straighten/walk on/not walk on/do/not do.

Actually I've got a bit of claustrophobia, I can't sleep really close to walls. Don't think that really counts tho..

Like Niky said - I HAVE to make sure the garage door is locked before I go to bed. Even if I KNOW I shut it an hour before..... I have to check it before I go to bed.

The wife washes her hands. A lot. I mean, really.... she must have the cleanest hands I know of...

Edit: WoooHOOO after nearly 2 years of PSB membership, 100 posts. I aint no post whore.

A bit OCD with the indicator button on my bike - paranoid about leaving blinkers on and I am constantly pushing the button.

And like Dubs, I have a bit of a thing for even numbers. I like even numbers of things, if I have to settle for odd numbers I get all emo

I had to do everything in fours, in fours in fours in fours (sorry)

again like dubs even's but everything not just what went in my mouth

tidying up was a menace, now fate has made me a single parent man does that bite back at ya, I work hard at ignoring it....

I think I am a lot better these days, days, days, days

My son had it when he was younger and pretty bad, these days they pump the kids full of drugs which fcuks em right up, back then we all used to just roll around in the dirt and knock shit out of each other :starwars:
