  • PDWTK: PSB Glossary

Okay, so I think I have worked out what a "squid" is (rider wearing a singlet?), and that a "mobile disco / private disco" is a police car or bike.

I already knew what "naked" meant, in the context of bikes (but having checked out "Motorcycle Training" on the funny stuff thread, now not so sure...)

but what exactly is a "chicken strip"?

Anything else that would not be obvious to someone who didn't grow up on or around motorcycles, please enlighten.

Moving onto PSB jargon: "Whoring"? and "NWS": Please explain.
    Any others I should know?

Chicken strips are the different colours on the edges of your tyres to the centre of your tyre. Apparently it means you dont ride hardcore enough to get the bike all the way leant over on public roads to eliminate them.

Mirkz/Mirkzing it /Ima Mirkz is a psb term for might possibly could if nothing better shows up take the chance of being there if the rain in spain is blowing in off the med and not the altlantic

2 most common ones i cant think of. Oh and thought i should get in before all the post whores (those who feel the need to reply to a thread with meaningless drivel) or forum trolls (those who reply to a thread in the deliberate attempt to take it off subject or start a shitfight with the threads starter). Im sure we are about to see each behaviour demonstrated below

NWS = Not Work Safe, eg. content will offend viewers.

I used to have soo much trouble understanding some of the words on here, but I now use Wikipedia to find all that stuff. I even found chicken strips there!! I was impressed! Oh, and they are the edges of the tyre that haven't been used on the road coz you don't lean the bike over far enough.

More ignorance: what's going on when someone's post starts with:

A quick way to get the post to the top of the list again so more people get to see it. I had to ask about that a couple of days ago.

they are 'bumping' the thread up to the top of the section and/or the new posts page, in an attempt to bring more attention to it.

That just puts the thread back to the top of the 'new posts' list so people can see it. Good for if you are selling something or no-one is answering your thread.

Edit - bump it up to the top of the list.

Chicken strips are the unused portion of a rear tyre on the edges which are a true indicator of a bench racers ability rather than the bullshit that often spews forth when the mouth is opened. If the tyre is like new to the edge, usually the rider isn't leaning the bike over near its potential, i.e not cornering fast enough. If it shows wear to the edge then they lay it over a good distance, if it is balled up with clumps of molten rubber on the edges, do not try and keep up with this person.

Chicken strips are not the be all and end all, but they are a good instrument in checking the confidence of a rider.

urbandictionary.com often knows the common terms you don't too.. and if it doesn't, it'll provide you with something funny anyway
