  • DWTK - Stapling

Ok, so I got a bunch of paperwork to staple at work, and a few pages are landscape.

So, when I staple the top left (diagonally of course!) should the writing be facing to the left or to the right?

It feels wrong to be stapling to the right of writing, but if you have to hole punch and file as well, the reasoning becomes clear.

Have i put too much thought into this?

ok, a landscape piece of paper where the writing is

          ||||||||
          instead of
          --------
          --------
          --------

Do you staple it so the writing reads
          |>|>|>|>|>|>|>|

          or
          |<|<|<|<|<|<|<|<|

          ????

            needs pics.

I voted <- (i.e. you would turn the page anti-clockwise to read it.

Either is valid. Go random. Especially if there's more than one landscape page - that'll give them some entertainment as they watch each other turning stuff upside down etc

If it's a mix of portrait and landscape: put the landscape pages in so they read bottom to top and staple the top left corner of portrait (top right of landscape pages.) as usual. So yeah ---> that way.
If they're all landscape it's top left as usual.

I thought that, until I started doing stuff that had an order number at the top right hand corner of the page.

We staple near the order number so when flicking through in a lever arch file you can grab a whole order in your fingers, not a few pages at a time.

I know I'm no help, but things are never that simple.

The melancholy personality loves order and neatness. A perfect reason to mix the pages up so they have to turn them each time. Great fun to watch them getting so annoyed over something that doesn't matter. Mmwaaa haaa haaa!

add in refer to appendix 'A' and then have separate sections stapled for landscape pages. Label them beginning from 'B'
