DWTK: What do you grow (fruit/veg/herb)

There seems to me a few green thumbs around here. So what tastey things do people have growing in their gardens?

I have (from memory)

Veggies:
Tomatos (cherry, sandwich, paste) - roma, black russian, amish paste, gross lissie, green zebra, garden peach and a whole heap of nameless others (variety seed pack ftw)
Chillies - Burke's Backyard thia chilli, jalepeno, serrano, herabano
Capsicum - Salsa, bananna, and other nameless ones (variety seed pack ftw)
Tomatillos
Corn
Zucchini
Spring onions - 2 types of red ones, one asian, one normal
Eggplants - white, striped, standard purple, itallian
Pumpkins - jap, butternut
Beetroot - golden globe, detroit
Carrots - baby, red dragon
Beans - runner, other type of stringless
Peas - sugar snap, snow

currently out of season
Garlic
Broad beans - coles dwarf and another type

Herbs:
sage
rosemary
garlic chives
apple mint
vietnamese mint
common mint
lemon balm
basil
parsely (tight curl)
corriander
lemon grass

Fruit trees:
Eureka Lemon
Tahisian Lime
Indian Guava
Fig
Rasberries
Blackberry (having a very hard time atm - any tips would be great)
Strawberries
Blue berries - sharpe and misty
Red Globe Grape
White Grapefruit
Cape Gooseberry

Im sure there are a few others that I have forgotten
- silverbeet
- rainbow chard
- leaks
- celelry
- lettiuce - a few types
- spinach

I intend to replant the following now the catepillars arent around
- tatsoi
- red russian kale
- purple pak choi
- joy choi

My cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli was wtfpwoned by catepillars

I have just started my ERB garden.

I have:
Basil
Lemon Basil
Coriander
Chives
Garlic Chives
Snow peas
Chilli, chilli and more chilli
Cherry tomatoes
Normal tomatoes

And some other stuff that I cant remember.

Buggered if I know the varieties but here goes...

Parsley, lavender, lemon, orange, mandarin, beatroot, onion, garlic, tomato, red chillis (long ones), red chillis (short hot little fuckers), capsicum, carrot, lettuce, watermellon, potato, chives, rosemary, grapes, passionfruit. The last two thoughtfuly provided by the neighbours virile vines.

Don't do the, grow your own anymore, too busy doing other things

Used to have 2 each of the following, peaches, plums, apples, pears (nashi), grapes (red n white), olives (1), mandarin, got too much in the end.

Ex used to have a few vegies growing, all in the name of feeding the growing kids, but that didn't seem to work

My mother is in the herb society and has heaps of different types if I need one or two

I was growing Tomatos and onions until I accidentally killed them with Zero.

Strange thing was the Zero killed all the plants i liked and left the weeds alone...

I have a shit load of bird netting somewhere, if i can find you can have (i was looking at setting up an cricket pitch at my old house)

i also have a couple of alchamy/herbal plants but cannot remeber the exact names of all just their properties. lions tail/mouth ulcers, tricious parintious (spellings is off i think)/detox and i had a catha endulas (khat) as well but that died, better than guranna that stuff. i also have some citrinella plants if anyone wants some, great for keeping mozzies at bay

I used to tie plastic bags up in the tree, dad reckoned it kept them away. Didn't seem to be that many eaten when I got to pick them. Hate the bloody sap though makes you itchy as hell.

All I know of is bird netting like the others have said.
Someone once recommended putting the fruit in brown paper bags so the birds cant get to it, would have to watch out for mould etc. Perhaps some thing similar would work (shade cloth bags)?

thankyou, the garden is about 6-9 months old. I have made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot. When I have the hang of growing all of this, crop swapping would be great, everything is looking a bit sorry for itself atm

That's quite a fruitbasket.

I was looking to do strawberries aeroponically in the near future as I have not seen a decent strawberry in about six years.

Blackberries would be hating the heat lately wouldn't they? An old duck my mother knew used to grow them and I remember her having trouble in heat above about 32 degrees.

I wouldn't mind a decent orange tree - last one got cooked by lightning. Necatrines would be good also. Other than that, my gardening kung-fu is weak. I "prune" well, but I don't enjoy the act of gardening as such.
