  • Anyone used a Personal Injury Lawyer

Long story short my step daughter was involved in a freak boat accident that has resulted in some very serious facial injuries to her. Her mate has already called his insurance company and he apparently has full insurance.

FIrstly .. when it comes to personal injury claims (excluding the medical expenses ..we already know these are covered) who pays? Is it normally covered by the owners full comprehensive insurance if they have it?

Has anyone used/know of a good a personal injury lawyer they can recommend to us who isnt going to take 95% of the payout in fees? (And yes I understand there will be a certain % go in fees to cover costs and wages and whatnot but just want someone who isnt going to rip her blind as she is only 18 and very naive and I dont know enough about lawyers to know how they operate)

I tell ya .. worst run of luck in my family the few months lol .. I can only hope it gets better

If they advertise on TV or on the outside of a phone book, steer clear.

Send Buttnekkid a PM, he's our resident legal eagle, and should be able to recommend somebody reputable.

PS. sorry to hear about your daughter, hope she's doing ok and recovers well.

hrm .. good plan. He steered me in the right direction for dad .. Im gonna have to buy that man a beer or 6 . She has a long road ahead of her and some serious dental work required once the rest heals Poor bugger but she is hanging in there. Tho for some reason when I offered he some Roc Candy and a t-bone steak she gave me a look that said "I want to cut your heart out with a spoon!!'

Yeah, he's earned himself lots of beers from all sorts of people around here, if everyone was like him the world would be a great place.

In fact, if everyone was like him, we wouldn't even need lawyers

Im affectionately calling her pumpkin head at the moment because her head and neck combine to make a butternut pumpkin shape at the moment LOL I Know it sounds cruel but we have been joking with her and she knows what we are all like and its been keeping her spirits high. She was already self conscious about her smile coz she had vampire fangs ... now she looks like a redneck with teeth broken and the front ones top and bottom missing poor darlin.>.<

Nope names not Tam She is recovering well at the moment. They operated on Monday and put a plate across 2/3 of her jaw, but she wont get replacement teeth for at least 6 months so they can make sure her jaw is stable and they get all the ground work done and what not. Thats gonna take another couple of visits to the hospital, poor bugger ... The redneck look is so not a good look for an 18 year old at a pub (or work), tho she does live in the northwest lol.

To be fair, the thread was bumped prior to his reply, by a spambot that daise whacked.

And with that, i think the thread can probably die. Unless the OP want's it re-opened... and PMs me for it....

You want to win but crashing is the opposite. It’s like being in France when you want to go to England and when you crash you go to Spain. That way you’ll never get to England!” -- Carlos Checa
