  • MP3 encoders for Windows media player 10

    Hi guys and girls.

Does anyone know where I can get a mp3 encoder plugin for windows media player 10. The microsoft web page only has a purchase one or a automatic update one. I am trying to find the file so that i can use it on another machine.

    Cheers dave

You can produce all kinds of media files...but yes MP3's are not an issue...

        It's actually a great bit of kit....and it's free.

Great music player and has the iTunes store now

Again, not for WMP, but I use a combination of EAC (Exact Audio Copy) and LAME.
EAC rips to .WAVs and LAME encodes to MP3. Both free, both very good.

People also have good things to say about CDEx, too.

seconded , CDex is one of the best programs around and coverts all sorts of stuff to all sorts of other stuff - piss easy to use and a pretty stable program

google for CDex and i think the most recent version is 1.51

Absolutely not as that sort of thing is illegal in Australia (bugger that "allowed to make a backup" shit - that's the US only), and we on this board never do anything illegal, do we?

However, hypothetically, these are the tools poeple use to rip from a CD to MP3, or so I hear...
