  • camera question canon 550d

    hey everyone,

I am getting a brand new 550d camera through a mate who can get it at staff prices, and what i want to know is which of the two kits is the way to go, there is a super kit, and a premium kit, and the only difference that i know of and can see is the lens being 18-135mm for the super vs 18-200mm being for the premium.

so camera people of psb which of these do you think would be the path to go down, i have chucked in links below for some information:

    Super pack
    Canon - 550D Super Kit
Canon EOS 550D DSLR Super Kit | Harvey Norman Australia

    Premuim pack
    Canon - 550D Premium Kit
Canon EOS 550D DSLR Premium Kit | Harvey Norman Australia

    thanks guys

There isn't that much difference between 135 and 200mm

Most of the things you will shoot will be between 24-70mm. Which I hate twin lens kits that give you a 18-55 and 55-200, coz your always changing lenses.

They both have IS and the same aperture so you may as well go with the 18-200mm one if you can afford it.

Check eBay, I'm sure you can pick up the camera with a twin lens kit for about $800.

That'd be cheaper than staff prices I reckon.

Id go for the 200. On the 550 its about 320mm which, if you decide to head up the track etc is reasonable.

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

The best place if you want to pick up a new lens is eBay of course but it's always worth while looking on perth.gumtree.com.au for second hand lenses you can get some really good deals

Well done on getting the 50D that's much better than the 550D in bulid quality and features ^_^
