Cortisone

Hello PSB,
I'm asking for your fountain of knowledge yet again.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me about Cortisone?
I've done some research on it- and nothing much has come up.
I have arthritis in my feet/big toes and my Podiatrist has suggested Cortisone injections for relief.
I've heard some pretty bad side effects I'm not sure whether to believe or not- and was hoping that maybe someone might have some personal experience with it?
or anyone one on here that has arthritis that has had cortisone before?

Just asking for opinions on cortisone. I'm not going ignore my specialist or hold PSB's input higher than a bloke with more University Qualifications than you can poke a stick at..... I'm just asking for what people think of it and how it worked for their arthritis if they have it......

I'm not being ignorant mate, quite the opposite. I've seen the pain someone very close to me went through when they refused to take their doctors advice and instead relied on that of friends.

If she has doubts, she should get a second professional opinion.

Yeah, I don't believe in Podiatry either, I think it's a bunch of new-age hocus pocus crap.

Whilst I completely agree with you that tertiary education has gone done the crapper, having a degree still means more than having a keyboard and internet connection

Bit of a sweeping statement, I agree that these three year degrees made up to fatten the budget are a joke, but a 4 year degree with masters and a Ph.D. your going to come out the other side knowing what your talking about.

Twigstarox, I would recommend you get a second opinion from an orthopedic specialist. You can probably get one from your GP. I'm surprised your GP hasn't already referred you to one.
