It works, very well infact.

If you expect it to be as good as MS office for free then you may be a little dissapointed.

For most people it will suit the purpose.

It tends to be a bit slower than MS orifice in my opinion.

Depends on what you want it for

For general typing up of documents-type stuff, I use it all the time and find it does the job extremely well. Might run into some conversion problems between MS Office and OO documents. Nothing major, just formatting sometimes goes a bit bleeeh especially when opening documents written in MS Office. Takes a bit of getting use to for some (particularly those that actually use proper paragraph formatting, tables and indexes, custom autocorrect entries etc.) as the layout is similar to MS Office but some things are in different places.

If your getting into the realms of custom macros, database connectivity etc.... mmm looks a bit scary... might just stick to vb/ms document object model....coz when they want something quick and dirty and they want it yesterday.... <_<

Although whadaya mean you dun wanna download it??? I download stuff that size all the time on my crappy dialup! Just kick it off before u go to sleep or before u go to work... gotta do SOMETHING with all that idle cpu time and I really don't see the point in donating it to SETI to find aliens when I could be using it for something more useful... like....ummm....porn...

ive used open office for some time and can honestly say great piece of software once you get used to it (as previously mentioned some things are in different places)

but considering its free you cant go wrong, and also to their is no spyware and it completely uninstalls itself
Every one has a story.....
