  • Haven't had a smoke since Boxing Day 2011, after many attempts previously.

This is the longest stretch for a while - 2 months.

Liam Neeson had a great line when they asked him about stopping smoking - he said he loved it, felt great - but still missed that moment when everything is right in the world. I miss that too - but you can't have both.

For me the only way is NOT ONE CIGARETTE.

If there's an excuse for one, there's always an excuse for more.

      • Have tried using patchs and gum, tried using the tablets (chantix or champix) something like that.

Has anyone tried hypnotherapy? and if so what was the result?

I only know of one who did hypnotherapy, and it failed.

The major part of quitting is actually deciding that it is over... This is it. PUT UP WITH IT.

When you are considering hypnotherapy, you are looking for a soft option.

Either quit - or don't, but don't spend too much money on crutches in the mean time.

          • Thanks for the info.

            Cold turkey it is then.

            • Good luck.

The only cigarette you will ever need to say no to, is the next one.
Only avoid the next one, and all the others are easy.

                        • Nearly 5 weeks without a smoke.

                          Champix works, highly recommended.
