Proceed with confidence Ninja - we got ours there (small specialist shop on Rokeby Rd - top end), french unit -came with two pans one glass lid and one pressure lid... super safe and has been doing its thing for over 10 years I think (fuck!!!:o)

Think in terms of this being a long-term purchase!!

Depends on what your thing is... but note that the p/c needs 1/3 - 1/4 of volume clear at the top for the steam.

My large pan is about 8L I think and accommodates a couple of bacon hocks and a load of veg when making the stock for pea-soup, also did about 8 lamb-shanks in one load with veg & red wine.... You can't really go too big at 8L, you will be able to cook alot or a little in that...

The smaller pan is about 5L I think and is great for just rapid cooking spuds and things... Brilliant having teh two pans to use in unison!

Don't over-do stuff though - you will be amazed at how quickly stuff cooks once you bring it to pressure....

A slow cooker and pressure cooker are two completely different things!

I use my 5L pressure cooker for perfect quick curries, the meat is always tender. Just let it whistle three times, and then turn off the heat and wait for the steam to escape on it's own.
