  • Bloody iphone!

I have an iphone and for the life of me I can't work out how to increase the number of rings before it goes to the message bank.

It rings three times and off it goes to the MB. I think it's part of some giant conspiracy theory to get more telephone calls made. Three rings is too short unless you have the phone right in front of you.

The IT guys at work coudn't tell me how to fix it ... can anyone here help?

    Scott

You can set it with the carrier, i.e. I go to the Vodafone site and change it there...

With three I just go to the website and log on (my 3)
the settings for that are there
I'm guessing you just need to do the same with your provider

I also noticed I can set international roaming and 1900 numbers etc there too
you used to have to ring hem for things like that

      edit : beaten!

You want it to go to messagebank?

Go to the phone app, type in **61*101**30# (send)
Substitute 101 for the message centre number of your choice... 101 is for Telstra, 333 is for 3 etc.

            Otherwise, just call up.

If you're with Optus, go here:Optus - Personal - Setup: Voicemail

Edit: Or do what padfoot said...

if youre with telstra you just have to punch in a number

                **61*101**20#

that diverts to 101 (message bank) after 20 seconds.

Why 20, when you can have 30?

                    Default is 15, so 20 isn't a lot more...

Did the phone not come with a manual? Or a disk, then you should be able to get one from the Apple website.
