  • Pics added - Yoga style Fitness challenge completed!

The Yoga Aid Challenge is a 2 hour Yoga practice at locations across Australia held at sunrise. Already held in Hong Kong, USA and India – its now our turn! The Perth challenge is Sunday 15 November, 6.30am on the Perth Esplanade between Riverside Drive and Barrack Street (behind the butterfly house).

The Yoga Aid Challenge event is a fun and safe event for all regardless of age, yoga experience or fitness level. The challenge is to do 108 sun salutes. If you don't know what sun salutes are think of it as doing 108 push ups and lunges

The event is free to attend and all the money raised goes directly to our charity partners.

PSB's very own Spock will be one of 12 WA yoga instructors to lead the challenge.

If you want to join in with our Bayswater Martial Arts team please do (I'm trying to organise t-shirts in time so let me know your size).
A two step process. First click here and register.
Yoga Aid Australian Challange | Register Now

Make sure you put Perth as the Venue and click the box that you want to join a team. Start typing in Bayswater Martial Arts and Yoga Centre - and it will come up auto with our name.

When you register, you will be asked to make your very own fundraising page. This is just a click to a link and any money you raise will be added to our team Total (no obligation to raise money though - this can just be your own personal challenge).

Otherwise if you can't join in but would like to support our challenge and donate a couple of dollars to MS Society WA please just go to this link

    http://www.yogaaid.com.au/tanialawrence and click Donate Now.

Here are some pics from last years event with Spock leading the group (yes there are LOTS of girls).

    Positive Karma to you all

Then you have to be in Barfy because I'm a fighting fitter! Did I mention you get free massages at the end? Yum cha sound like a top idea actually - but no chooks feet for me thanks.

Oh and edit - make that 6am.

We'll bring some with us from the centre. They are a must.

One other question, is there something I can use on my own mat or treat it somehow to get the thing to grip? It's just about slick on both sides and is immensly frustrating to use.

Mats take a while to break in. You just have to sweat on it more (yes I know that sounds grosse). Mine generally take about 2 or 3 weeks of frequent use before I start gripping to it.

Cam: bring it to the next class, and afterwards myself, Bunyack and Orson will roll around on it shirtless for a while. It that doesn't do the job, nothing will

It's better to be thought stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5,000 foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn, downhill, ess turn is quite another.

Sorry lolly, can you clarify the start? Does the event start at 600 or should we meet at 600 to get settled and warm up into it?

Just checked. Arrival from 6am (you get a gift bag if you have registered) and first salutes start at 6.30am.

Last year, they provided free water, fruit and yogurt afterwards as well. But bring a water bottle just in case.
