  • RIP Alan Kempster

Alan Kempster has reportedly passed away - unsure of the details but have seen it popping up on FaceBook via reliable sources. A google search does not return anything as yet.

Alan lost both an arm and a leg in an motorbike accident in 1990 but he kept on racing against able-bodied competitors and his pace was remarkable given he was missing 2 limbs and would not be able to grip the tank under brakes - which was, according to a doco I watched, probably his greatest limitation as he could not brake as hard as he would like. He had a sense of humour and raced with the number 1/2 as he jokingly referred to himself as half a man (or arfer man as per his front fairing).

    Rest in Peace Alan.

      Worth a watch

When applying for his racing licence, an official asked him what happens if he crashes and breaks an arm or a leg, he replied "I've got 50% less chance of breaking an arm or a leg."

Hmmmm maybe he was really twice the man.
              RIFP Alan.
The only thing wrong with a perfect ride to work is that you end up at work.
