I'm pretty sure Yoshi on the forum is a physio.

How about a physio whos had almost 8 years as a spinal specialist?
And she knows a thing or two about pilates also....

however... as I mentioned this to her, she reminded me of another friend of ours who specialises in pilates and back problems.

Shes in South africa for another week, then coming back and starting at some private clinic. PM me or I'll chat to ya tuesday if you want.

Think Yoshi is studying to be a chiropractor...along with a mate of mine...
depending on the issue Roosta, it might need chiro rather than physio
but Im no doctor..so consult one first

Let me know if you need some contact details

Hey sportsmed at St John of God Hospital is really good, they offer pilates with a physio supervising you.. usually its no more than 3 people with 1 physio.. but depends what time u go in for a session. (u can book an appoitment whenever it suits u). Its awesome for back pain.. I been doing it for a while and have really noticed the difference. They really focus on whats best for you. (first appoitment is a 1 on 1 with the physio to work out what exercises will work for you) and if u have private health cover you can claim it as physio treatment. Not sure if the area suits you but the one at murdoch is (9366 1810) pretty good.

And this is why i dont do pilates!

Shadows on the right track though. Consult a GP first maybe?

HA. Nah its not me Chookie, its Mah Carley, she done got her self a Scoliosis and its getting worse, her physio said that Pilates was the go. bUt her Phsyio wants to conduct each session herself! Several physio sessions a week will cost plenty of the dollars that we dont have!
Oh and Chookie best leave The karma Sutra position to the experts. #184 is an easy one you wanna check out the variation on that, its called the Splitting the Bamboo

I wish it was as simple as a couple doses of penicillian but it aint. The physio said take a heavy dose of pilates and give me all ya money and she'll be right....

ive got scoliosis (and kyfosis or however u spell it), it sux...
heres some advice that the physio may not give, make sure she got a great mattress...itll help BIG TIME.
also lifting weights and strengthening my back has helped along with stretching...
how severe is it???

Not debilitating severe yet. Id say its about a 1-2inch curve to the left in the mid lumber (lower back region) but shes still only young and its getting worse apparently.
