In the interests of restoring balance to PSB, I present stupid pissed man story of the day.

Man escapes after car dangles over 7m wharf - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Two men were lucky to escape serious injury when a drunk fisherman drove his car through railings at a Darwin wharf, leaving two wheels of the car dangling seven metres above the harbour.

Police say the 30-year-old fisherman from Queensland had been drinking when he tried to move his car just after midnight at Fisherman's Wharf.

He drove into a rubbish bin, a parked vehicle, narrowly avoided a sleeping man and then mounted the wharf railings.

His wife probably drove him to drink.

What the story doesnt tell you is that he was trying to avoid a woman weaving down the road texting on her mobile phone............................ (not doing much for the balance huh )
On two wheels or four - the coastal road is heaven

I bet he was applying his make-up, then when he realised what he'd done he downed a bottle of Jack as a cover story.

I'd be telling people that I was fishing from my car when suddenly a huge marlin/bluefin/shark/submarine grabbed the bait and although I put up a brave right, I had the presence of mind to let go just in time.

Because, really, who in their right mind is going to believe that alcohol might have been a factor?

A man in a car? What was he doing out of the tool shed? The failing was no doubt his wife's, for not providing him with jars to open.

LOL Yep I used to live in Darwin so know the wharfs around there. I went back up for a visit in 2008 and the day before a man being arrested for failing a breatho or something about 40kms down the main Highway managed to steal the officers car and raced into darwin and drove it off the side of the main wharf in town. I got there the next day and watched them haul it out of the harbour with a crane. The sleepers ( no not the homeless person variety) are about 30cm high so takes a bit of effort to get over the edge. The fishermans wharf however has a couple of edges where you can drive straight off. Its totally flat tho, so you could never claim it just rolled after leaving the park brake off etc.

Well you know what they say: "if the van's a rockin' better hope it's not parked too clase to the edge of the wharf"
