• The Little Grumble Thread.

Not to be confused with Broughams thread for getting it off your chest.

This thread is for little irritations you encounter on a daily basis but really not worth a tantrum.

I'll start with this,

Two years ago Mrs frt and I became empty nesters.

For the first time in two decades we suddenly found ourselves with no dependant children, no running them around or fitting our life in to accommodate their sporting / social lives etc.

This presented a little conundrum not uncommon to parents.

What do we do now?

This can be a trying time for parents who have spent twenty years focused on their offspring and may find they no longer have anything in common other than children.

What we did was go out far more than we had for years, came home to a clean house every night and revisited the life we had pre children.

The love was always there but it seemed like we were young lovers all over again.

Then they come home again when things don't work out.

Of course they are welcomed with open arms, that's what parents do.

The garage is full of furniture, the kitchen has disappeared under a mountain of dishes because loading the dishwasher requires emptying the dishwasher and why bother when there are more in the drawer.
The dining table resembles a library book sale and their newly acquired pets are turning the place into a fertiliser factory.

I know it's only temporary but Jeez...

Oh to have Old Frt's problems.

My 3 yo and 2 yo are systematically dismantling my house.

Everything I hold dear they destroy.

I cant even build a Thomas train set without it being wrecked before the second lap.
Its all good on Ducati's

Sounds a bit like my parents. But also a bit like the stories I heard from my grandparents! - all good times.

Small grumble.
Something popped out of place and won't go back and will now require a doctor to poke and prod in the underpants department.
I thought I was a good ten years away from having to deal with that.
Old frt amidoinitrite?

Do you remember the good old days before the internet?

when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.
