    Does anyone know the legalities on building a Hotrod in WA?
    They seem to have a lot more leniency in regards to modifications allowed/

          Mine was registered fifty years ago. They were real lenient then!

          I get the Western Link emails from Eric Warren, they always have the appended note. I'm thinking membership allows for more realistic inspections.

          NB: Book at least two weeks before your check.
          NOTE:
          Ensure you have the current rego papers and Application to Build Forms in your rod at all times.
          That way you will have them with you on inspection day...No papers, no inspection. These are DOT rulings that the TAC are obliged to follow. No complaints or exceptions... trust me on this one.
          Ensure that you have a Dept of Transport permit
          to test drive hot rods on their 3rd inspection,
          even if trailered to the check.

              You're the second person that has suggested a 2JZ and as much as I like the idea, I really have a hankering for a V8 and the 1UZ lends itself well to a blower further down the track.
              Plus, it's a hotrod, a 6 cylinder just isn't right.
              If I was going to do anything other than a V8, it would be a 1GZ-FE, but that would just be stupid money.

                      Just googed it ...noice $3500 usd... see performance forum...

                      Inlet manifold is a bit restrictive...

                      All motor spec is a 700mm cube... somewhat smaller than the 1uz..?

                      Same bore and stroke as 1jz just 60 Deg V......2x cyl.s... ha hah ahha hah go on...!

                        It's a 5.0L V12, the 1UZ is 4.0L ally block, the 2UZ is a 4.7 cast iron and the 3UZ is a 4.3 ally block.

                          I just want the V8 sound, but replacing the red motor with a 308 or similar, in a spot made for a flathead four, would be a nightmare.
