Having lost our beautiful Bella four weeks ago we would like to find another Retriever/cross. She was a rescue dog and we would like to do the same this time...anyone knowing of an owner who no longer wants/can keep their dog please contact me on oh4233one798three or pm me. A younger dog is fine but not a pup. We might consider another breed but atm a Retriever is the one for us.

I have tried all the local pounds etc and I have contacted a Retriever rescue place but they are in the Eastern states and will usually not adopt interstate...cant blame them really.

Feel free to pass my number along to any possibilities.

    Thanks

    Steve

Fly over East and grab one, then fly back.

Have you been out to Shenton Park?
Or had a look at them online?

Have a look at Desperate for love (dfl) We foster from them and they have lots of dogs needing permanent homes

been to Shenton Pk, Swan Animal haven...etc...also tried DFL...there are many dogs that need a loving home but we really want a retriever/cross...might be a little selfish perhaps but what can you do??

            It Isn't selfish at all.

You wouldn't settle for a car or house that didn't suit you.

Another one is SABBR, (Staffy and Bully Breed rescue). I got my staffy/lab from there last year. They definitely target the breeds as per their name but they do get all sorts.

The rescue groups can take a little while. Some breeds are very popular retrievers would be one of them. Keep an eye on them and be patient. Jump on the opportunities when they come up.
Fwiw gumtree is worth looking at too. Some ads you just shake your head but also some genuine ads come up. Can usually work it all out over a phone call.

Yeh agree on Gumtree, couple of friends of mine have gotten their pooches from ads where people are relocating/divorcing/owner passed away.

Strange mix this one, but meets criteria?
