I personally recommend using Exact Audio Copy. It may not be as simple as some other programs out there, but at least you know the copy is accurate.

Also if you are interested visit http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/ to get more information. In their forums they have recommended settings for all types of encoding and encoding programs.

          Just my 2c...

I just use Easy CD creator. If you got a burner theres a good chance you would have it. It rips CDs at whatever bitrate you want too. Stuff that 128 restriction crap.

Best one ive found is freerip ( http://www.tucows.com/preview/305350.html ). Completely freeware, so no cracks needed.

It also does variable bit rate, which is much more efficient than constant bit rate (Quiet sections get comressed more, complex music sections not as much compression, so the quality is better)

And don't worry if you only do 128, you cannot notice the difference unless you are paying big bikkies for a high quality stereo, from my experience I only know of two people who can tell the difference between 128 and 192. But variable bit rate, you can set it between 96 and 192, and you will get a good file size, with excellent quality.
