with iinet, Bliink 512 $49 a month, have a look at their site for more details. Got my phone with them to, 17c a minute to the UK so I can call Khadine for a lot cheaper than Telstra.

iiNet is a leading Australian ISP delivering NBN internet, our own high-speed broadband network in selected areas, mobile, entertainment & more.

          Good stuff!

Alot faster than your traditional dialup.

          Campo recommends iiNet
Dnd recommends WESTNET hands down. Best customer service you can get from your isp. (moved from iiNet of 5 years to westnet)

          Mines(2) Westnet 512/128 Premium 79.95 and 256 Lite 29.95

DND, did u have much trouble getting adsl??
as our nearest exchange is maidavale, wich is nearly 4k's away (the limit to get adsl)
just wondering as i was looking at getting the westnet 512/128 Premium $79.95 plan.

            cheers

              If you can afford an extra $30 a month, I recommend getting Westnets 1.5 / 512, 15GB peak/15GB off-peak........she's sweeeeet as... 8)

havent ever had adsl so cant comment to much, but i know to stay away from TPG  know heaps of peeps that have had trouble with them, and there tech support wins hands down in the "pretty fucking useless" category.

                    Hi CK

I live in High Wycombe and reside in Leederville at different times during the week thus the reason for having 2 adsl accounts.

Was originally with iiNet at High Wycombe until moved to Leederville (Westnet) and now I'm in between 2 places I got ADSL back recently due to introduction of 256k Lite cheapee plan (limted to 200mb download/upload). But i use my 512k login, sharing my 28gig quota, BIG PLUS!!!

In terms of getting ADSL its should be pretty easy and you shouldnt have too many hassles....just the waiting period of Telstra to connect your phone line to the ADSL exchange. If you are unsure that you cant get ADSL please go to this link and it will tell you if you can get adsl or not.

WN did mine in 5 working days including Telstra connection. Very quick compared to iiNet (2 weeks) -> that was when it got first introduced. I recommend you get the Premium plan but only if you are going to download alot of stuff, that is 28gigs worth. If you are a leecher like me and have a taste for downloading movies and games and not paying them then this is the plan to go for. Also great for Ps2 and XBox Live online gaming. Lite plans are good for email and normal internet usage.

Here is another link helping you decide which plan is for you.

Anywayz Im not hear to promote WN but its my opinion of the company. iiNet is equally competitive and more popular than WN but for me, its the customer service, that got my vote.

Good luck with your decision and if you need further assistance, feel free to ask.

                    If you can afford an extra $30 a month, I recommend getting Westnets 1.5 / 512, 15GB peak/15GB off-peak........she's sweeeeet as...

Please read their fine print. It is not really unlimited. From the top of my head I remember there is a download limit or they will shape you when you reach a certain quota. I maybe wrong but there is acouple ISP that are doing that. Also they will lock you into a contract for 1 or 2 years, where as local isp is contract free.

Go local CAD. iiNet, Westnet or Arachnet. They are the main WA isp and they are all good. Dont bother with Eastern state isps and stay clear from Telco companies.

                          No problems.

Also I recommend you getting some Line filters, IF you got more than one telephone connected and a router as opposed to a usb modem, IF you are going to have 2 or more computers connected.

Of course the ISP co will ask if you need any of these items. Shop around it maybe cheaper outside.

Hint: PM me for prices on  ADSL hardware.

TPG is definatelly NOT a gamers isp, the speed and unlimited downloads is fine for leeching, but the packet response times are shitty for what you would expect from ADSL, iinet, telstra and westnet are much more responsive.

Telstra's unlimited is classed as unlimited in the fact that you MAY find your speed capped once you exceed 10gig for the month.

Having said that, I know of people who regulary crack 40gig a month on telstras unlimited plan, and have never been capped, as the network load is not high enough to cause the speed cappings to come into effect. The speed caps only come into effect when the network load hits a predetermined value, which is the point at which Telstra decide that your leechwhoring is affecting the performance of other users.

TPG's looks nice on paper, but yes, tech support is bad, and its nice if you are a geek who can run your own systems without needing a tech support call, and nice if you only view webpages, but gaming, and kazaa users beware.
Nitrous is like a hot girl with STD's, you know you wanna hit it, but you are afraid of the consequences!
