Fucking traffic lights! Corner of Collier and Tonkin waiting for the filter light to go green. Sat through three complete change cycles and no green light. Tried pushing back and coming at the sensor in different spots, but nothing doing (there's no bike markings there and it's never given me grief there b4).

I'd probably still be sat there if I hadn't gone "fuck it" and pulled off through a red (OK - I only waited that long cos it was kinda funny - and I wasn't gonna wait for a cage to come and trip the light for me!)

Anyone know what the law does about that situation? Main Roads are going to get a earful tomorrow!

Tonkin and Benara is REAL bad for that. Caught me a coupla times. I never run the red I just go straight thru after 2 changes and go up to the next one.
Dunno why but they dont seem to sense bikes that area.
    HONDA! F#@ YER!

You think thats bad - try it on the scooter. The darn thing is light as a fuck and I seem to be running reds more often.

Perhaps Melkor or Danny can shed some light on what the legalities are for legally going thru the red light after a certain number of changes.

        Melk? Danny?
        If you can... you MUST!

No idea if it works, but incase you hadn't seen it I thought I'd mention the 'Signal Tripper':

A special $6.50 magnet you put on the bottom of your bike somewhere.

 it dosent matter how light the thing is. The sensor is a magnetic coil. You just have to provide the flux to induce the current to actuate the sensor.

If yourve got an old hard drive lying around the place, bust it open and get hte magnets outa that. They all have at least 2 mega-powerful ones to drive the reading arm. Wack that on the bottom of ya bike, and problem sovlered!

Rowe Highway Travelling South turning right at Toodjay Road is one that dosent pickup bikes too

one of the best ways to get past this is to turn the motor off and then start it again. the starter motor magnet cranks up and trips the coils at the lights..... used to have that problem all the time on the blade, but then got told this, and never had the problem again

yar, well i did. never had a problem with it. Execpt when they fall off

                  so not amymore.

                  But it worked great.

Bublous's trick i have been told before. But when you all hot and sweaty and pissed off at traffic lights, you tend no to remember those things.

                    Simply.

You can't. If you blow the red you are breaking the law regardless. I heard somewhere that you should complain to main roads if a light doesn't trip for you, but i donno how far you'd get with that.

Just blow the red if it looks like it's not going to go, but check for the redlight camera and DannyR1 in your rear view mirror.

On occasion I've backed up a bit from the lights, made a left turn instead, gone up the road a bit, done a U-turn and come back at the lights. That way you're either going straight through if you wanted to turn right, or pull another left and you've gone straight through. It's a bit of a hassle but less annoying than sitting through half a dozen changes.

Yeah. If the normal lights had changed I'd have gone straight on and come back round through the Give Way, but even they weren't going green. Typical, 7.30pm on a Tuesday and there's not a single cage coming up Collier!!! By the third change I was wondering if the guys at Main Roads were taking the piss (there's a camera at that junction) - I could just imagine some wanker sat in the office with his finger on a "red light" button.............ok I'm sad, I'll shut it.
