  • Anime anyone?

I'm a fairly recent convert to anime, I'd seen Akira years ago then recently Mattah loaned me the complete Cowboy Bebop series & I was hooked. So I've been scouring the Video shop for titles worth checking out. Worth watching: Ghost in the Shell, Spirited Away, Blood-The Last Vampire, Spriggan.....
Who's got a collection? Can anyone reccomend any titles?

      Fist of the Northern Star
The Fist of the North Star is GOLD anime, its a little slow but the fight scenes are what anime is all about.

The Cowboy Bebop movie is pretty cool as well (it's like a 90 minute episode), the series rocks the casbah though. Trigun (series) rocks arse, and Noir (series) was pretty cool. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is definitely worth watching. Hellsing (series) was good as well. X (series) wasn't bad, but it dragged out a bit in some parts, there's a movie version as well, but I haven't seen it yet.

Movie wise you'd be struggling to go past Ninja Scroll for the coolest. Street Fighter II : The Animated Movie is probably one of the best contenders.

Series: Neon Genesis is the shit, until the end; then it is shit.

Old school series though: (Fuck Robotech in its ass) Guyver has to be one of the coolest series ever. It hasn't aged all that well, but the idea behind it is still awesome. Also if you can get your hands on Tekkaman (There was a censored kiddy version on CHeez TV called Technoman, not anywhere near as good) it's worth checking out.

Babel is okay, especially if you like pyschic/paranormal themes.

                    Devilman wasn't too bad.

Urotsukidoji if you are a repressed adolescent (or Japanese) and enjoy spanking the monkey to sadist, quasi rape porn. Not my bag, but a huge following. It's also the origin of that Sailor Moon crap your little sister watches. Makes you think huh?

Across the road from the "Flying Scotsman" pub or something. Just up the hill from the Queens. (I refer to places by their proximity to pubs, hee!)

There is actually a place either next door or a couple of doors down, "hong kong video"? That has the biggest selection of asian vids in perth. Its the back section of a restaurant or something. I'll chase up the exact details.
