crazy bee/fly invasion

my bakc awning shadecloth is covered in a sea of millions of these lil bee/fly things. they look like a half bee half fly.. smaller than a common house fly though - they don't sting (well havent yet) and they kinda hover around near the ground when i hose em...

wonder if they'll fuck off

Sounds like the things that I saw in England hanging around the bakeries. No idea what they are. They are stripey like a bee right?
