Tracy Grimshaw is covering a lap riding pillon at an advertized t/s 280kmph on what appeared to be an R1.
I wonder if this will spark outcry at how fast motorcycles can travel?

        covering them in what?

seriously, we don't need a story like this to spark outcry, simply overtaking someone/lanesplitting/quick acceleration ability (that story posted bout the poms) will often do the trick...
so yes, this will probably have some sort of repercussion...

It appeared to be on a racetrack and they appeared to be in full leathers so I dont think its anything to be concerned about.

          On the contrary, good exposure.

A V6 commodore is most of the way there too.
A 4cyl lancer will do 200 without mods.

Edit: And you can have 4 children in the car...

WTF, it hasnt even been on TV yet and you already know what it's going to be about?

I saw the preview last night and it was all about Wayne Gardner taking whatserface for a hot lap of Phillip Island I think it was. I would say its either something to do with Gardner or MotoGP bandwagon jumping.

I'm usually the first to bag out the media for having an anti bike bias but I will hold my tounge until I actually see it, despite the fact that its on a Current affair.

The rental SV6 we had yesterday does 230 no worries....

                          100 to 200 isnt difficult.

200 to 250, gets harder to do.

250 to 300 gets VERY hard to do.

And i speak of real speeds, ie corrected. When you think your topping out at 280 and feeling proud of it, the GPSmay tell you otherwise.

                            Allegedly

EDIT: With modern digital car/bike speedos, are they still quite inaccurate like the old analogue/cable ones?
