Southern Rail Train Spotted!

Oh Yeah.

Riding in this morning under the South Perth Overpass, I espied a NEW rail-car set heading south. I believe it was a 3-car set, and it wasn't going too fast, but the wait is almost over.

I heard yesterday that they are now short of trains, because increased traffic on the northern line has them busy.

yeah they have a major problem because lots of teh new trains they bought for the Mandurah line are being used on the Joondalup line and they cant get more trains before 2009 or 2010 or something.

Also, they have only just (today) started running the trains down that line so it will be quite some time before the are operating. There will be a lot of train driver training they need to do to get the drivers used to the new line and station setups etc.

The official line is they are still aiming for an opening this year but i wouldnt hold my breath.

There was a fair few people on the overpasses waiting to see the train. I think we have all being waiting a long time to see a train on that line.
