Crop circles were appearing long before GPS was accurate enough

some of these suckers would take a bit more than a carton of beer, some planks of wood, rope, a night and a couple of mates.

              That video doesn't do anything.
It's just a bunch of stills.
              Fail.

that looks just a little bit fake :p

whoever is making them have groups all over the world who are pretty damn good at geometry/math, know how to use computers to accurately map their geometry onto a field and are willing to put a shit load of effort into making something that will be lost to a harvester as quickly as it was made.

a lot of their art looks inspired by the egyptians, lots of crop circles have pyramids in their themes.

this vid shows some of the geometry underlying the images

And on another note... this Chinook falling to bits from resonance is pretty interesting too.

                      Thats today.

However what of crop circles prior to 1990 when Selective Availability (which is deliberately designed to cause inaccuracy) was active in the GPS system?

Well selective availability can still be turned on for certain parts of the world in certain times remember, hence why China is putting its own GPS sat's up, but thats getting off track... Clinton did a good job tho of turning it off for commercial use.
                        :stupid:

                          I reckon its obvious.
Due to most toys being made in mechanized/ computerized factories, the elves who used to make the toys for Santa have nothing to do, so rather than sitting in Greenland/ Lapland making toys, they meander around the world making pretty patterns in fields.

Using GPS, except in China, where they don't

No in china they use tape measures and sticks to mark out a grid.
Write the crop circle on some graph paper and then use it as instructions on the grid they measured.
