  • Albums that never get old?

We were sitting around rather toasted a few days ago (Jim, Sal, Jeff, Jess, I think Neil was there too) and while I was bitching about John Butler to Sal and she was laying the verbal smack down on me for being an ignoramus, we got onto albums that just don't get old at all.

The ones you bought decades ago, but can still bust out today and they've held up perfectly well.

I can break out almost any Crowded House album and still love it to bits, Throwing Copper by Live is still in high rotation in the car and there's a bunch of Frank Zappa stuff I'll probably listen to until I die. Thriller should be in there too, it's just too bad ass.

These infinitely "listenable" albums are getting pretty damn rare these days, seems to be two or three decent tracks with a whole pile of filler, so what are the albums for people with longer attention spans than goldfish?

“Crashing is shit for you, shit for the bike, shit for the mechanics and shit for the set-up,” Checa told me a while back. “It’s a signal that you are heading in the wrong direction. You want to win but crashing is the opposite. It’s like being in France when you want to go to England and when you crash you go to Spain. That way you’ll never get to England!” -- Carlos Checa

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin is just outstanding, great place to start for anybody new to 'Zep'.

first CD I owned was The Wall back in '90 or '91. Still love it to bits, & still play it every once in a while.
Will remain a timeless classic for decades to come I'm sure.

I've bought it 4 times - burned it countless.

Should add Paranoid to that list too.

And Sultans of Swing - good best of comp to chill out to.
