  • wedding ideas and help

There are a few old wedding threads, but they seemed to desend into "how to save money" threads .

We have a reasonable sized budget, that won't put us in debt, and we can always work around it anyway, so, i was wondering if anyone has any experiences/recommendations/prices around the following:

    - Reception venue (needs to hold 120 - 160. Would prefer a restaurant or somewhere that does not require outside catering, but i know that severely limits options with bigger numbers)
    - Photographer (we don't need a video of anything except the 15 - 30 mins of the main ceremony. I assume these 2 things normally are the same people?)
    - Limo's (we only need to hold max 6 people, and prefer just one, or, is it worth/cheaper to maybe even just hire 2 5/7 series beemers or something??)

Anyway, any help, suggestions, or warnings about any of the above would be greatly appreciated !!!

Reception venues... best to go and look yourself as tastes differ too much.

Photo/Video.. no, most do one or the other not both. Id recommend James and Rochelle from Image Maker for stills.... Welcome to Imagemaker Photography, one of the most comprehensive One Stop Imaging facilities in Perth. fanastic work.
Limo's: Central Park Limousines. Cheaper? Thought budget wasnt an issue... lol.. expect to pay around $1400.00 for something very nice for upto 5 hours.

be careful though, as soon as you mention wedding, prices escalate.

    120 people? $18k plus.

Maybe what i should have said is budget isn't an issue as long as we are sensible. We don't have $100,000 or anything like that. However, $1400 is well within target range for the transport. Having said that, if we can get something that will do the same job, possibly more practically and that is cheaper, then we'd be fools not to.

Practical? Limo mate. Dont even faf around with sedans and shit. You wont get to sink piss with your wedding party on the way to the photo shoot & reception otherwise.

Dont mention the word 'wedding' when you ask for quotes, meet the restaurant's manager and discuss all the options. I can guarantee you will save massive amounts when compared to a 'reception' venue. For example We had ours at a resteraunt and it cost us just over 1/3rd of the price per head when compared to bridgleigh or a catered function centre etc.

Limo's - get in early there are not many in perth (Walkies and Ford GT limos can be booked for over 1.5 years)
