  • The Internet: A pretty boring place?

So, most mornings at work I stick to a similar routine with warming up to the rest of the day. It usually involves a quick visit to facebook, a perusal of PSB (and maybe 20 or so posts of inane drivel), reading the headlines on The Australian and the BBC websites, if there has been cricket on then I'll go to cricinfo, similarly if there has been football I'll go to a football site and read about the results and maybe play about with a fantasy team.

Outside those things though, I've never really used the internet for anything else and so after I'm done, find it is a presumably large space that hasn't encouraged me to adventure through it yet.

What have I missed? Where do you guys go to shoot a few hours?

Porn, that can keep you busy for hours

Seriously though, it's great for researching for holidays, doing stuff around the house etc. Basically whatever you need to do can be found on the net - I even remember seeing a bloke who invented a beer cooler by creating a jet turbine engine out of a turbocharger and running propane - that was funny and so much of a time waster....

However, it can get in the way of life and isn't too condusive to "smelling the roses". Basically, I use it as a tool, like a "Yellow Pages for Life", but you still have to get engaged with the real world else you end up a hermit!

Each morning I check PSB, CNET and Engadget and in the afternoons funny sites like failblog, icanhascheezburger and thereifixedit.com. Since losing 4million in poker and having zero chips I no longer play Facebook poker non-stop

For the ultimate, ultimate experience in checking out the interwebs download and install the Stumbleupon toolbar, I have no idea how many sleepless nights I've had because of Stumbleupon but it's a lot (anyone who has it should be familiar with "just one more stumble....")

PSB at various points throughout the day, especially whilst offshore. Keeps me sane.... also provides a laugh or two finding threads where people feel compiled to "walk in, wipe there feet and get out!"

What are your other interests? Discussion forums can be highly addictive.

The internet is also an archive for nearly all music, TV shows and movies ever made
