  • 30km/h zones 'may be expanded'

30km zones 'may be expanded' - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

More metropolitan councils are considering lowering speed limits after the introduction of a 30-kilometre-an-hour zone in Perth suburb of Leederville.
The speed limit on Oxford Street has been reduced from 50 to 30 kilometres-an-hour.
It is an attempt by Main Roads to keep pedestrians safe and has the support of the local council and business owners.

Makes sense to me. The slower you go the fewer people die.
When we reach 0kmh speed limit we all become immortals!
Although the not being able to move thing may put a crimp on eternity.

Went to a road safety talk a couple of weeks back now the Office of Road Safety has paid Curtin to start up a new accident research centre.

Expect a lot more of the above initiatives.
...remember. According to their new policy/strategy they have to reach zero.

Give this man a medal. Ramp up the speeds to 80kph! That way, no one will dare cross!

That’s a good thing, pushes the message that the vehicle driver is responsible for the venerable. Next we need to get the message out of look, indicate & be patient.
I don’t ride to get to the end, I ride for that moment

Hop scotch, skip rope, tunnel ball & football, all the same to me
If you cant ride it or fuck it, then its not sport

You don't need pushies. Just go for a jog in front of Mr plod oand his radar gun and see what he can clock you at.
Can you help with foster care?

Main Roads is already considering expanding the program, flagging Scarborough Beach Road at Mount Hawthorn and Great Eastern Highway between Perth and Kalgoorlie as potential areas for speed reductions.

j/k, but it would not surprise me eventually.

im sure there are more accidents on that stretch of road (out of sheer boredom) than the cbd per 1,000,000 vehicle/km.

need a dude walking ahead with a red flag, too. and a bell. need more bells...
“Crashing is shit for you, shit for the bike, shit for the mechanics and shit for the set-up,” Checa told me a while back. “It’s a signal that you are heading in the wrong direction. You want to win but crashing is the opposite. It’s like being in France when you want to go to England and when you crash you go to Spain. That way you’ll never get to England!” -- Carlos Checa

some academic here should research and write a paper on "the slower you go the higher chance you (and those around you) die"

haha..go along the lines of the slower you go, the more likely you'll fall aslp on the wheels..or the slower you go, the more tempted you will be to text while driving because you'll have a longer time to respond to situations and 'don't have to pay as much attention to the roads anymore'..

                          doeeeet!!!
