  • How (not) to corner

Well, just about everything that could go wrong went wrong with this attempt!

Feel free to pick it to bits - my friends waited all of 3 minutes before starting with the jokes

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RH4zFXlNVMc]YouTube - How (not) to corner[/ame]

(it's in HD so watch the humiliation in full screen)

    Ok so some self reflection:

    Wrong line.
I looked straight at the patch of sand and headed straight for it.

Both newbie mistakes, hopefully others can learn from my ways!

The funny thing is, my friend and I come to this corner almost every weekend and are fine, this was seriously the first lap of the day and the first time we brought a camera with us....too bad the helmet cam was out of batteries.

    All up the damage was:
    Scratched mirror
    Cracked + Scratched LHU fairing
    Scratched LHR fairing
Steering is off center now (hopefully just moved at the triple clamps and not bent forks)
    Bent Shifter
    Scratched clutch lever
    Scratched bar ends
Damaged pride to one bell end
And scuffed jacket and the chin section of the helmet (yay for full face)

So the bike has now had a similar drop to the right side by the previous owner, and now one to the left side by me.

that sucks. Awesome area to ride. Line is very wrong but. How long you estimate till you get the bike fixed. You need to send me an invite to these rides too.
      :aus-salute: Yer thats ULTIMATE :aus-salute:

Yeah nah, like Jacko said, you were too fast/wide to begin with.

Next time don't try so hard to get the knee down on the road m8.

Stay in that inside lane use the lines as a guide, the outside of that corner tends to get alot of crap on it But ouch. Thats gotta hurt

How about not hanging 3 feet off the bike just so you can get your knee down?
If cleanliness is next to godliness, why was jesus a dirty sandal-wearing beardo?

that's how I normally do it, about the same speed that you were doing it that time - I just ballsed this one up big time.

Couple of weeks, got too much work on at the moment. Had to catch the bus/train in to work today - I forgot how much I hated that!

Yeah man we'll let you guys know next time we're going over that way for sure

I have more of an issue with your mate pointing the camera at the ground.
