  • Interested in PSB Events? Read here.

I’m asking for donations to try and start organising and planning events, from simple social events (go-karts, super-golf, or other such activites), which won’t cost PSB anything to organise but a volunteer’s time, but can be used as a stepping stone to the larger events (PSB Christmas Party, PSB Trackday, PSB show) that do cost money to organise and run.

To that end below you will find links allowing you to donate towards PSB getting these events up and running with the following targets across the next 12 months. If some targets aren't met, then the donations will role across to the next 12 month event planning period.

Don't hesitate to suggest additional events and targets that could be added to this....

Reach $500 - A PSB Karting Championship, 4 separate events at different carting venues, with points allocated based on an individual’s fastest lap time (or other alternative scoring method) to crown the PSB Karting King or Queen. Venue rules will need to be followed. Each participant will need to pay for the karting sessions and use a specific Kart to be able to be counted for points. You don’t need to make all the events to be included in the tally.

Reach $1250 - PSB BBQ (hopefully Christmas), with a presentation of PSB Awards.

Reach $2500 - PSB Trackday (Collie or Barbagallo)

Reach $5000 – PSB Show – displays by business’s, show & shine, swap meet etc to celebrate the motorcycle Community.

Each event may attract additional costs to PSB members to participate in them, and the donations received won’t be used to offset those additional costs.

If you want to donate amounts different to the values identified below, you can increase the qty of any one once you get to the paypal screen.

    Donate $1

    Donate $5

    Donate $10

    Donate $20

I apologise in advance for the length of this post, however I need to appeal to all the members of PSB…

Part of what I think my role requires to manage PSB is to be as transparent as possible , especially when it comes to finances, upcoming issues, and living up to my own expectations on what can be done for the PSB Community.
When I initially stepped up to take on the role, I had some lofty ambitions (see here… https://www.perthstreetbikes.com/for...d.php?t=179156), however to date, only a few of these have been achieved.

To try and move forward PSB needs a cash injection to be able to manage and run events, engage people above and beyond riding bikes, and creating an actual community environment that people enjoy being part of, rather than just another electronic medium, which will eventually lose to Facebook.

Some of you have become supporters to aid in covering the costs associated with keeping this forum running, and to all of those supporters past and present, I offer my heartfelt thanks for your support and trust. However as can be seen from the 2016/17 financial position (https://www.perthstreetbikes.com/for...d.php?t=186205) we are getting close to not being able to do that, and something needs to change or be added to address this.

Consider this… Everyone loves getting something for nothing, however in every case what they get is costing someone else either money, or time. I would like to think that every member that is on PSB has got something from using the forum (either from the other members that use it, or the work put in by the moderators/staff):
    • support for your 2 (or three) wheel addiction
    • a place to advertise your bikes or other goods
    • recommendations / reviews of bikes, accessories, shops and business’s
    • discounts from PSB Corporate sponsors
    • lifelong friendships
    • Free goods through pay-it forwards
    • a place to blow off steam that isn’t as heavily regulated as other social media sites etc.

I don’t have a huge amount of time due to all my other commitments; however I will always do anything I can for PSB. So assuming that others will help me with their time to create and plan and run events, the next thing we need is raise some money to be able to start them. Given that currently 10% of the regular users (Supporters) are covering 50% of the costs to keep this forum running, it would be great to see everyone else become invested in keeping this forum alive.

Well I just became a supporter, does that count?

Like Gim I really like this site, always found people willing to help/teach. Not to mention all those that shadowed me back in the day, which I'm now trying to pay forward. Would be a real shame to see PSB disappear from the internet.

                      Donated to the cause -

Every $5 helps, give up one coffee a week and give a little back to the community that gives you everything outlined above.

At 95kg I'm not getting any lap records in a low-torque kart. I just like BBQs and the chance to put faces to names
