  • David Jefferies Dies at TT

David Jefferies died in practice at the Isle of Man TT last week.

    Very Sad.

Most famous for his winning the last three TT's on his GSXR1000 and his memorable quote "Anyone who wants to screw around with the motors on these things needs to be taken out back and beaten witha big stick".

    RIP Big Dave

He was powered by pies and every time I see a pie I will take a moment and remember. It kind of puts things in perspective, just a thought before you bust it up in the local highway. It can happen to any of us.

He was from my home town in Yorkshire, the whole family is big in the bike world. Used to go into the 'Allan Jefferies' bike shop all the time, and bought my Diversion from there. A great loss the the biking world. RIP

Its cool that he managed to do that...

Just like Sete Gibernau did for his team mate at the next round in South Africa after Daijiro Kato's death.

Cody Crocker did the same for his team mate Possum Bourne in the Australian Rally Championship.

For any Isle of Man / David Jefferies fans www.pitstop.net.au have the Isle of Man 2002 DVD which includes an on-board lap with Jefferies.

The Barry Sheene biography is also out.

2003 has been a bad year for motorsport - RIP to Bazz, Daijiro, Possum and DJ. Isle of Man/TT Racing has lots 2 of its biggest legends in the last 3 years (Joey Dunlop and DJ).

The 2003 dvd should be in 2 weeks. The speed and skill these guys have around the isle is unreal. At least there is some comfort knowing DJ died doing something he loved..... still sucks though
