    November 02, 2007

NETWORK Ten newsreader Charmaine Dragun has been found dead following an incident at The Gap in Sydney's east.
The incident occurred shortly before 4pm (AEDT) today and police have described the woman's death as non-suspicious.
"Police are investigating an incident at Watsons Bay," a police spokesman said tonight.
"Shortly before 4pm (AEDT) a woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, was sitting at Jacob's Ladder.
"Police arrived and located the woman deceased at the scene."

The spokesman said investigations were continuing and a report would be prepared for the coroner.
Police would not confirm the deceased woman was Ms Dragun, but Network Ten has told AAP it was preparing to release a statement of condolence.
TEN's chief executive officer Grant Blackley tonight said news of Ms Draguns' death had left the network in a state of shock.
"Colleagues and friends of Charmaine Dragun, co-presenter of TEN's Perth News at Five, mourn her tragic passing this afternoon,'' Mr Blackley said in the condolence statement issued tonight.
"We are all in a state of shock and sadness at this terrible news.
"Charmaine was a highly intelligent, vibrant and caring person, universally liked and admired by her colleagues.
"Our deepest sympathies go to her partner, Simon, and her family.
"We are doing what we can to support them and urge everyone to respect their privacy at this time.''
    Ms Dragun was 29.
A biography on the webpage of the media agency which represented her states she was born in WA, where she rose up through the ranks of radio and then television.
"Charmaine began her career as a radio journalist. She worked as a reporter and news reader for Perth radio stations 6PR and 96FM," the bio reads.
"After making the move to television, she rose through the ranks at Ten News, covering everything from entertainment, to stories of major, national significance.
"She soon found her niche in court reporting and went on to cover some of the biggest cases WA has seen in recent years."
The bio, on the website of BBC Entertainment, said Ms Dragun was most recently working as a permanent news anchor with also stints hosting Ten's Late News and the 11.30 Bulletins.

Yeah suicide ... come on, it's The Gap

Pretty clear from the article that she's deliberately closed her account ...

Not an accident ... read the article, plenty of code ...

"police have described the woman's death as non-suspicious"
"a report would be prepared for the coroner"
"mourn tragic passing ... respect family's privacy ..."

It's common practice that media outlets don't give prominence to suicides (so as not to glorify or give prominence to such an act).

Plus it's The Gap ... absolutely notorious

No chance of it being an accident.
The Gap is a drop of about 20-30mtrs down to jaggered rocks.
There are fences and warning signs.
Its a very well known place in Sydney to do away with yourself.

                        strange wording....
"Police have not commented on the circumstances leading up to the woman's death, saying only that a member of the public reported a woman was sitting at a harbour's edge lookout.
Officers were dispatched but the woman was dead before they could arrive, and the death was considered non-suspicious."
people dont usually call the cops just cos they saw someone sitting at a lookout. unfortunately, i think it sounds a lot like suicide too. what a pity, she was a bit of a cutie. i remember seeing her in town one day, and she gave me the nicest smile
"I think she's kinda sweet...but she makes her living catching cum in her mouth and i'm sensing that's a problem with you"

                          What is in the water.

                          So many of our Ozzie personalities gone . . . . . .

                          I guess when the end is near . . . . . Pow . . . . . That is it.

Unless they're sitting on the wrong side of the fence at Sydney's favourite spot to throw a seven ...

People (locals) of Watsons Bay call the police if they see people at this point, looking depressed or just out of place.
As it has been said this is a well known suicide cliff and the locals really keep an eye out.
