    Motorcyclist killed on Gold Coast
    Simon O'Brien
    August 6, 2009 - 6:30AM

A motorcyclist has died after losing control and crashing on the Gold Coast.

The 39-year-old was travelling along Abraham Road, near the intersection with Wings Road, at Upper Coomera about 10.15pm, when he left the road and collided with a pole, police said this morning.

    He died at the scene.

A police spokeswoman said there were no early indications what caused the crash, but officers from the Forensic Crash Unit were investigating.

Our Father, Who art at Phillip Island, Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done
In the backroads as it is on the freeway
Give us this day our high-octane premium fuel
        And forgive us our lanesplitting
As we forgive the four wheel drives, the volvos and the taxis
And lead us not into gravel corners
But deliver us from hand-held radars

Maybe the road surface was pretty crappy? gravel or road works or something. Even then he may just have been going too fast on a wet road (possibly). Either way,

              RIP Mate.
