RIP Patrick. Not really a fan of his movies, except Roadhouse with Sam Elliot. He put up one hell of a fight, I didn't think he'd last this long.

I was nearly in tears in the car when they played the theme song to Dirty Dancing (I think it's called "time of my life"). Gave me chills. RIP *sigh*

He is/was an icon of Hollywood. A gentleman, married for years (an oddity in Hollywood), and some of the most enduring roles in movies. "Pain don't hurt", "You are the bouncers, I am the cooler", "Ditto", "Nobody puts Baby in the corner", "We are the ex-presidents"... and a long fight with a nasty form of cancer that would have withered lesser people. At least it's over now.

Yeah he was a fighter alright, Pancreatic cancer kills ~1800 people per year in Australia (it's a top 5 cancer) and it's split straight down the gender lines, ~940ish male ./ 920ish female. Most people survive between 4-6 months following diagnosis due to many factors (pancreas = kinda important) and diagnosis normally occurs in late late stage disease.

He held out for 2 years .. which is about 18 months longer than anyone by rights should have been able to.

                            Much respect.
