Rossi will come good over the season but I don't think he'll be a title contender.

Thought I'd have an Aussie pride and brand loyalty battle, but carn Casey!

              He's having a shocker :s

Rossi was right though, Stoner is a madman! His P3 time was faster than his own track record, and he has already blown that away in his second lap in qualifying.

And it keeps coming down... into the 54s

If Stoner keeps it upright tomorrow it will be an absolute cake walk.

              The factory Yammys look HAWT!

Dovi back in 7th doesn't bode well for his championship this year. Being #3 in a 3 man team must be the pits, especially since there are customer Hondas (Somincelli) and Ducatis (Barbera) ahead of him on the grid. If he doesn't get up to 4-5th in the race he's out of luck for the rest of the season methinks. Repsol only has so much cash after all.

I've always been a great fan of Simoncelli and hopefully this year he will gain the experience to look after his tyres over the course of a race. If so he will regularly challenge for podiums and might even pull off a race win. De Puniet has taken a backward step changing from LCR Honda to Pramac Ducati but I hope he does well this year as he always fights hard when in a group of aggressive riders. Lorenzo will have the lions share of the budget from Yamaha Yamaha this year but he's fighting a losing battle if they have to make multiple chassis changes during the year, they just don't have the sponsors to buff their budget and keep them on top.

Ben spies is as hard to pick as Port Adelaide. Paddock reports say he has no preferred setup so if he can ride around grip issues and make the most of the Yamaha then I would expect him to be bothering Lorenzo at the death but without the ability to fine tune his chassis like the 'aliens' I don't expect him to be there every time. Crutchlow represents the unknown quantity but his form in practice has shown that he has top 8 pace all the way through. If he can break into the top 5 during the season and contribute to the development of the bike then I think he should look forward to a factory ride in either 2012 or 13. Colin Edwards should be worried about this. If he can bag a ride for 2012 on a 1000 Honda or Yamaha then he might just save his career, otherwise it's a customer WSBK or WSS spot for him.

It doesn't need to be said that Stoner and Pedrosa will be at the front of the field for at least the first half of the season but Stoner's more aggressive style will either be his edge or his undoing. If he can find balance and confidence in the Honda front end he will ride around any rear end issues he has. If he can't and ends up being too tentative on corner entry then Pedrosa and Lorenzo will ride around him again and again. As it stands Casey is deservedly the clear favourite and I hope he can replicate the form he showed in 2007. The point that remains to be proven though is if he can help develop a bike to it's full potential.
