  • Top Companies Pull Out Of Superbikes

Members of the Motorcycle Sport Manufacturers Association have withdrawn factory support from the World Superbike Championship.

A ststement from MSMA secretary general Takanao Tsubouchi said that unless the decision to restrict tyres to a single make was rescinded, it's members would not compete in 2004 as factory teams and would not provide technical assistance on a factory basis.

Ducati was exempted due to it's contractual commitments.

 Is someone trying to kill off Superbikes :?: There not listening to the teams, the riders and the public! (bunch of clowns).

I'm a great fan of Superbikes, and have been watching it for years, watch Sunday and buy Monday! What you see is what you get (not totally true, but close). It would be good to get all the teams back, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Aprilia, Kawasaki, plus the teams that are still involved.
Fingers crossed they get there shit together!! :?

Shit, they'll be rapidly running out of time before they sort their shit out. Chances are you think they'd drop the next season in order to get it back together?

man, some of the riders must be hating it over there now!

      Suprise suprise.

      Superbikes Shlooperbikes…..

To see some riders ride their heart out on the 1,000 cc jap bikes to keep up with the Dukes only to see the ground they gained under brakes and some corners lost as soon as they run out of restricted air box puff half way down the straights just killed it for me. I’d rather watch Jerry Springer. The first race this year was the only one I watched.

In my opinion the Superbikes could have been the best competition in the world but they have fucked it up and as Cal says – not listened to the public.

Correct me if I’m wrong but what I believe the public want is to see bikes that as closely as possible resemble bikes that any of us can walk into a major retailer and buy and spend a few thousand bucks on - dook it out on the track. So down at Scarbs on a Sunday arvo we can all take the piss outa each other like “Man… those R1’s were driving miss daisy …. Did you see how that Blade just blitzed it in the straight.. yada yada”.

A competition should be a competition. For everyone to have the opportunity to bend the SAME rules to their advantage. To watch a bunch of Ducati’s with an unfair advantage in not only no air box restriction but now tyres as well? No thanks, would rather watch paint dry.

They should just rename it the Ducati cup and be done with it.

So on the eight day, after wasting time faffing about with unimportant guff like heaven & earth & the waters & sky & creatures [& having a wee kip] & man.... God created PSB (GenesiSX-R1000)

Funny thing is most people know that a stock Ducati 999 will not stay with a stock Gixxer or R1. It should be set up like the BSB & AMA, minor modifications by ALL!!
Lets even up the playing field and see what happens.
They could always run 2 superbike races, 1 supersport and 1 Ducati cup  per round, Ha hahaha.
The way it's going, no one will be showing the racing, due to lack of interest
