I am absolutely gutted. I was a real fan of Norick.
Japan does not have much luck with their bike heros. Not many years since they lost Katoh, and Nagai before that.

An absolute 'personality' lost. Always remembered when he cried at his first (and only?) win. Such an emotional guy......RIP Norick

Norick was a champ. Shame to see him go. Unfortunately a reminder that no matter what your skill level, it can happen. R.I.P

Gee thats bad news - RIP Norrick

In the mid 90's just after he burst onto the GP scene with all the sliding and tilted head riding style, I had some Japanese technicians over servicing a machine - These guys running around in their white overalls could not speak a word of english - I asked them if "Abe?" - they all looked at me pretty blank - I had a big picture of Abe in a bike magazine, and showed them again "Abe?" - they all grinned - awww Abbbeee, they said Guy was a hero in Japan

Damn. I liked watching Abe race. He was one of the funnier japanese blokes and always put on a good show when he got up the front of the pack.

                              Hmmm, very sad.

As previously mentioned, even with skill level the accident happened. Dam truckies!

                              Be careful out there everyone.

                              RIP Norick
