Where do you want be running. Up front will cost more than playing near the back of the field.
There is a thread somewhere for 2nd hand tyres, which can help keep costs down too.Velocity Race Team

But just incase it's not a troll. This is something that basically any racer would kill for and as such shouldn't just be handed to whoever can kiss the most ass on PSB. This calls for a 100 lap, 2 person endurance race - with the winners gaining season sponsorship! Now that I'd pay to see!

interesting....
but putting my own self vested interests aside.
each round NEEDS at a mimimum:
$500 for 1 set of tires
$200 for entry
$80 for oil and filter
$40 for fuel
now, you'll want one practice day per round.
$100.
could probably do with a rear tyre for that too.
$300
oops, forgot the fuel again.
$40
so, that's already $1260 each round.
x5 is $6300
forgot about the club day
$7560
oh yeah, kings next year.
$8820
we haven't even touched on bike paint, brake pads, chain and sprockets, repairs.
duct tape, rags, cleaners, lubes, tools, tyre warmers, the list of things that get used in the background is huge.
if you're running a team, you'll probably have some kind of shirts or hats or similar?
each person is up for $10 per meeting to walk in the gate.
awards dinner can cost around $110 per person.
you'll likely get some thankyou pics made up for your sponsors.
we have had a photo shoot done each year.
the list gets as long as you want it to.
but that's a rough break down anyway.
you can do it better, you can do it cheaper. perhaps you don't use new tyres on practice days. perhaps you bin a set of fairings. maybe you need a set of wets... it really uis hard to predict accurately up front.
I had one crash set me back approximately $5k, $3k of which I had priced, ordered, delivered, and fitted in 3 weeks. so you need to be on the ball.

The greatest excitement comes from besting who you were yesterday.
