  • 1/4 Mile chat

    Hi All,

I took my bike to The Motorplex last Wednesday and had 3 runs down the strip.

I got whipped each time by 2 Hyabusa's and a very nice GSXR 1000. I still loved the experience and got faster each time. My start absolutely killed me, I have invested in a Brocks lowering kit to keep the front wheel down. After speaking with a few of the guys they all used lowering straps hence their unreal take offs!

There isn't too much chat on here (that I can see) about dragging your street bikes.

If anyone is keen to share their experience then I'd be keen to listen in. I'm going back again tomorrow with a better game plan to improve my times.

    So.

    What did you run ?

It's kinda fun the first and second pass but after that I get more excited about the 90 degree bend at the end.

    Bit boring

I'm keen to see if the 848 will pull a 10.6 as advertised.

Problem is I've never even tried a burnout on it yet!

Best I got was 11.001 I done about 15 passes giving it all it's got, patto advised me anything around 11.2 on the 848 is on the money

Good luck, don't need a burnout with the 848 either

          11.45 after 2 x 12 second runs.

I loved it and think this could be the start to venturing to some track days.

it will run a 10.6 otherwise they can't advertise it.

but it depends who is on the seat and how it is set up.
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?

when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.

Identical set up. Hmmm was expecting better than 11 flat. Do you think it had anymore in it?

I'm almost 100kg but apart from that I hit every gear perfect rpm run it within .007 reaction time every time tried launching everywhere from 4000rpm right up to 500 off the rev limiter.

It would need perfect conditions without road going parts with a jockey on it to pull 10.60 imo

Was down there last Wednesday. There is some tweaking you can do to your rear suspension as well to improve traction and launch. Ran a 10.99 last week on my little cbr600rr. Strapping the front is a must for consistency as well in my belief. Have found the regulars down there always happy to help as most are just there to improve their own times.
