  • Bunbury Race Track?

I saw on Drivetime TV something about an "international" class race track under construction in Bunbury.
Anybody got any details about this?

as far as i know the track was initially proposed to be built next to the international airport to host Formula Nippon Championship. This was few years back...the proposal must have been rejected and moved down to bunbury.
A formula 1 standard track only few hours from home would be a dream come true for me...

The website of the guys trying to build the Formula Nippon track is here: http://www.pimm.org/

and the Bunbury website is here: http://www.bunbury.wa.gov.au/

Last I heard, they were waiting on the EPA to get back to them with approval so they can start building.

They were saying they want to have their first race in October, but there hasn't been any building started yet as far as I know, so they'd have to get moving.

The formula nippon cars are a 3L V8 if I remember right.
