  • Photos from the track - Saturday 17 April

I've started helping Calvin with his racing and plan on doing so all season so I'll be taking a few photos of whats going on down there with my dodgy Kodak. It's good to see the PSB boys down there, Gohan @ Zipdrive on the R1's. They're looking good, it's going to be a fun season for sure!!

So here's a couple of shots from yesterday. The new R1 and New CBR 1000 was there, I got a few shots of the R1 but the CBR1000 was always out so maybe next week, I'll get some......maybe.

Ace came down for the RaceTech day as well but came off in the basin in the first session. Now this guy has balls. Not only did the CBR look a mess but there was a few broken parts. That didn't stop the boy from driving down the the wreckers and getting what he needed so he could continue with the rest of the day. Now that's hard corp if you ask me!! Good stuff mate. Keep an eye on Ace through the season, I think after he gets off the CBR250 and onto something bigger, he's going to be pretty fast around the track.

    Here's the photo's guys

They let anyone ride this thing!! Rory after the dog attacked him. This guy didn't let up that he only had one eye to use for half the day, throw a leg over the R1 and still tear up the track..........just lucky he didn't get any dirt in the other eye eh?

    Till next weekend

      Damn Ace,

You busted up your baby. Glad you didn't bust yourself up.

Maybe you gaffe up the fairing up to keep as a track day set,
and now you have an excuse to do up the bike like those pics you posted earlier.

      Nice pics.

        cool fotos

this is what I think happened: 3rd lap came into the basin on a nice tight line, peg scraping, hit the apex and I think the peg just dug in a little too much maybe jumped the rear around a little and the rear slid out, I was too committed into the corner to pull out   mechaniclly the bike is ok, I need a new windscreen and a new exhaut. Thanks to Gohan 8) I ducked down to 2 wheel wreckers and picked up a new brake lever, attached it and I keep on riding

Also big it up to Jarrid for following me home and dropping some parts off

        Some more picies

Cool photo's guys 8) Thanks to Campo for your help.

Ace, you just need to take it easy for the first couple of sessions, work on your lines and riding style (getting off the bike / get comfortable). You will find that you did not get off the bike enough and the bike got too low and over she goes.
Good to see you go back out, nothing worse then letting the fear of falling off get the better of you, well done 8)

Hey Craig, i'm good thanks. He's trying to keep me updated on everything, so i'm still managing, even from 12,000 miles away to keep up with all the goss.

cool pics. wish i could have been out there as well - but had to work all morning

my girlfriend breanne did the novice course and had an absolute ball. she knocked a consistent 5 seconds off her times in the two sessions that i watched. i think i'm going to struggle to get her to let me use the bike from here on in. :? she has gained a heap of confidence on braking and cornering and is REALLY looking forward to the next one.

jeremy (kneedown) also improved quite a bit from the last time i was up there with him. i only got to time a couple of laps but he was doing 71's. didn't get a chance to time ace but he seemed to be going good through the corners. his bike definitely sounds more throaty with the new speed holes in the exhaust. glad to see that there is nothing too majorly wrong with it and that you came out ok.

i asked rory what he thought of the new r1. he said "it's a monster. i fucking love it". the new cbr was cranking around too. danny abrey got into the 63's on it bog stock. and it looks heaps better in the flesh than in photos.

Bad luck Ace but great to see u didnt let the little beast keep you kicked off. Glad to hear your ok but pity about the bike. Having said that though, couldnt think of a better place to have an accident.........at the track 8)

Wouldn't expect anything different from Rory
He's not happy unless he's on the track. Rain, hail or shine, dog bite or no dog bite, he is there if he can be. :!:

i think he's a bit tapped in the head that boy. his dog jumped on him and got him in the eye with its paw. breanne said he was overtaking her on one wheel out of skyline. he reckoned that he nearly hit the back of a few people coz of the whole lack of depth perception thingy. :?

                      Racecraft - 17/04

I had an absolute blast on Saturday...best Racecraft I have done so far and you have to love the extra track time when the sidecars and licenced riders are not present!

My goal was to compress my braking distances and improve my corner speed which resulted in a considerable reduction in lap time as observed by Jarrid. It is great to know that I wasn't riding on the edge but still brought my times down and I was always within my comfort zone. Ended up wearing out both knee sliders (swapped the left onto the right and wore that one out too!).

Got home with my bike in one piece as well which was a bonus! It was a shame you ended up in the sand Ace but as Calvin said probably too hard too soon, still great to see you kept going. If it is any consolation...you left some good reference points on the track exiting the basin. I used them all day!

August is far too long to wait for the next one!!
