  • Losing teeth

I'm thinking about droping a tooth from the font sprocket or add to the rear.

So, what i want to know is, how many RPM does it add to the RPM at 110k in 6th?

And what would the highest "safe" RPM that u would travel at?

Does it make a big diff to perfornance or top speed?

P.S. Whats the best way to cut that tooth off the sprocket?

I dropped a tooth on the front to 17. It revs about 500rpm higher at 110. Safe revs is when it hits the limiter mate. Oh and it's a performance mod for quicker takeoff, higher wheel stands, destroyed rear tyres. It's probably easier to change the rear and go up about 2-3 teeth to be honest which gives you the same as droping a tooth on the front.

dropping 1 on the front is about equivalent to adding 3 on the rear

it should be pretty easy to drop one on the front as you shouldn't need to change the chain length. if you go up teeth on the back you may end up having to change the length of the chain due to amount of adjustment available in the swing arm.
